November 26 (SeeNews) - Croatian postal operator Hrvatska Posta [ZSE:HP] has signed an exclusive agreement with US online retailer Amazon for delivery and logistics support in Croatia, with a perspective to cover the wider region including Bosnia, Montenegro and Serbia, local media reported.
The agreement was signed in the middle of November but neither of the two companies was willing to provide an official comment on the matter so far, Croatian news daily Poslovni Dnevnik reported earlier this week.
"We cannot disclose the names of our business partners but, yes, Hrvatska Posta has been since recently a partner of large web traders and expects a significant growth in the volume of processed shipments," Poslovni quoted unnamed representatives of the company as saying.
The daily also reported that Hrvatska Posta had just started cooperation with international fashion online retailer About You which entered Croatia recently.
In July 2019, Poslovni reported that a team of Amazon experts held talks with Hrvatska Posta on the details of the planned cooperation and visited the postal operator's new 50 million euro ($60 million) logistics centre in Velika Gorica, south of Zagreb, which was expected to satisfy Amazon's high sorting and shipment criteria.
