September 22 (SeeNews) - Croatia-based insurers reported overall premiums paid of 1.156 billion euro ($1.235 billion) in the first eight months of this year, up from 1.083 billion euro in the same period of 2022, official data showed on Friday.
Non-life premiums increased by 17.3% on the year in the eight months through August 2023, reaching 960 million euro, Croatia's financial regulator, Hanfa, said in a monthly data release.
Life premiums declined to 196 million euro in the review period from 264.5 million euro last year.
There were 15 insurers registered in the Adriatic country of 3.89 million people at the end of last month.
As of the beginning of 2023, Hanfa started publishing figures on premiums paid instead of gross written premiums (GWP).
