December 10 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Croatia Airlines said on Tuesday it has completed its Dash 8-Q400 fleet modernisation project by installing EGNOS navigation equipment, which will increase the safety of flight operations and reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
The new equipment enables the use of the satellite signal of the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) and landing using the Localiser Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) approach procedure, Croatia Airlines said in a statement.
The airline launched its Dash 8-Q400 fleet modernisation project at the end of 2017. Its value is around 5.0 million kuna ($745,000/672,000) with the European Union providing 85% of the financing.
Croatia Airlines has six Dash 8-Q400 planes in its fleet.
