BELGRADE (Serbia), September 15 (SeeNews) – Chinese telecommunications equipment and services company Huawei launched a digital transformation hub in Serbia's capital Belgrade, a senior company official said.
"The innovation hub will be based on five key aspects -- talent nurturing, ecosystem, smart solutions, localisation and agile innovation," the president of Huawei Western Balkans, Li Mengqun, said in a video file posted on the website of Tanjug news agency on Monday.
Huawei hopes that the Serbian government will maintain an open and fair business environment for the development of ICT infrastructure, as the country can become a world leader in the digital era, Mengqun added.
"The three main aspects on which we work together with Huawei are the introduction of artificial intelligence, digitalisation of education and development of smart cities across Serbia," Serbian prime minister Ana Brnabic said at the official opening of the hub.
The launch of the hub was agreed upon by the Serbian government and Huawei in 2019.
In May 2018, the government said that Huawei plans to start offering its Smart City solution in Serbia. The solution incorporates cloud, network, and platform technologies to sense, analyse, and converge key data from city operations and management systems so that managers can intelligently respond to a variety of governance, livelihood, and business needs.
