December 8 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Varna municipality said that it has awarded local software company Ballistic Cell a 8.9 million levs ($5.1 million/4.5 million euro) contract for the maintenance of the e-ticketing system of the coastal city's public transport, following a public procurement tender.
The company will be responsible for providing post-warranty maintenance including system administration, updating and consulting services, the municipality said in a notice on Tuesday.
The contract was signed on November 3. Sofia-based Ballistic Cell was the only bidder in the tender.
Varna municipality said in late September that it has invited Ballistic Cell to participate in the tender, adding that the company is the copyright holder of the software and all components of the e-ticketing system.
According to information published on the company's website, Ballistic Cell is focused on the development, delivery, installation and integration of modern information systems in various fields.
