Bulgaria's Sopharma 5-mo sales down 2% y/y

June 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian pharmaceuticals producer Sopharma [BUL:SFA] said on Thursday that its sales revenue slipped by an annual 2% in the first five months of 2024 on the back of lower exports.

Revenue from export sales fell by 6% on the year in January-May, whereas sales on the domestic market grew by 6%, Sopharma said in a bourse filing.

In May alone, Sopharma recorded a 20% annual drop in sales revenue. The company's export sales sank by 23% on the year, while domestic sales lost 14%.

As of 1400 CEST on Thursday, shares in Sopharma traded 0.66% lower at 6.00 levs ($3.30/3.07 euro) on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
