May 25 (SeeNews) - The deposits of Bulgaria's non-government sector increased by 12.8% year-on-year in April to some 118.6 billion levs ($65.4 billion/60.6 billion euro), following a 13.1% rise in March, the central bank said on Thursday.
At the end of last month, the value of non-government deposits was equivalent to 67.1% of Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) projected for 2023, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a monthly report on monetary indicators.
At some 74 billion levs at the end of April, household deposits were 9.5% higher year-on-year, after adding 9.4% in March.
Deposits of non-financial corporations at the end of the review month amounted to nearly 40.7 billion levs, or the equivalent of 23% of the projected 2023 GDP. They marked a rise of 21.3% on the year in April, compared to an annual increase of 21.6% in March.
