September 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's consolidated budget is expected to be in surplus of some 885 million levs ($534.3 million/452.5 million euro) as at the end of August, the finance ministry said, citing preliminary data and estimates.Consolidated budget revenue is expected to have added about 4.7 billion levs year-on-year to 33.5 billion levs in the first eight months of 2021, or 70.5% of the full-year plan, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.Consolidated budget expenditure is estimated at some 32.7 billion levs as at end-August, or 62.2% of the full-year plan. This compares to an expenditure of 27.2 billion levs as at the end of August 2020.The consolidated budget showed a surplus of 705.2 million levs at the end of July, equivalent to 0.6% of the projected 2021 GDP, the finance ministry said in a separate statement on Tuesday.The 2021 budget bill envisages a deficit of some 5 billion levs, including a 600 million levs buffer in case the situation with the coronavirus pandemic worsens and additional expenditures are needed.(1 euro = 1.95583 levs)
