Bulgaria's M3 money supply up 8.6% y/y in May

June 25 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's M3, the broadest gauge of money supply, went up 8.6% year-on-year in May to some 157.9 billion levs ($86.6 billion/80.7 billion euro) after rising by an annual 8.3% in April, the central bank said on Tuesday.

The M1 monetary aggregate, the narrowest measure of money supply and the M3's most liquid component, added 8.5% on the year last month, reaching 128.1 billion levs, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a monthly monetary statistics report.

At nearly 84.5 billion levs, the volume of net foreign assets at the end of May was 1.4% higher in annual terms and 0.4 percentage points lower than the growth recorded in April.
