Bulgaria's Jan-Sept trade gap narrows to 1.5 bln euro

SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 12 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's trade deficit decreased to some 3.0 billion levs ($1.8 billion/1.5 billion euro) in the first nine months of 2020, from 5.2 billion levs in the same period of last year, the national statistical office said on Thursday, quoting preliminary data.

Nine-month exports (FOB) fell 7.7% year-on-year to 40.1 billion levs, while imports (CIF) declined by an annual 11.3% to 43.1 billion levs, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.

In September alone, Bulgaria's trade gap widened to 455.6 million levs from 445.8 million levs in the same month of last year, as exports declined by 1.8% year-on-year, to 4.8 billion levs, and imports fell 1.4%, to some 5.3 billion levs.
