April 15 (SeeNews) - The average annual household income per capita in Bulgaria increased by 6.2% year-on-year to 7,002 levs ($4,300/3,600 euro) in 2020, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Thursday.
Wages and salaries accounted for 56.1% of total household income last year, down by 0.5 percentage points on an annual comparison basis, followed by pensions and self-employment income with 28.8% and 6.2%, respectively, NSI said in a statement.
The average annual household expenditure per capita in Bulgaria was little changed year-on-year in 2020, at 6,220 levs, the NSI said.
Consumer expenditure per capita totalled 5,054 levs last year, accounting for 81.3% of total household expenditure. Expenditures for food and non-alcoholic beverages accounted for a further 30.1% of the total, followed by housing, water, electricity and fuels for household use with 13.8%.
