August 31 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian diversified group Chimimport [BUL:CHIM] said that its consolidated net profit excluding minority interest slumped to 12.9 million levs ($7.8 million/6.6 million euro) in the first half of 2021, compared with 22.5 million levs in the same period of 2020.With minority interest included, consolidated net profit decreased to 19.2 million levs in the first six months of this year from 24.1 million levs in the same period of 2020, the company said in an interim financial statement on Monday.Chimimport's total revenue went down to some 6 billion levs in the six months through June 2021, from 8.7 billion levs in the comparable period of 2020.The group's net income from insurance activities rose to 25.3 million levs in the review period from 17.6 million levs in the first half of 2020, while net interest income edged down to 65.5 million levs from 66.8 million levs.Revenue from non-financial activities declined to 121.4 million levs in January-June 2021 from some 182 million levs in the same period a year earlier.The company's expenses dropped to about 5.9 billion levs in the period under review from 8.6 billion levs in January-June 2020.As at 15:30 CET on Monday, shares in Chimimport traded 0.92% higher at 0.88 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.Chimimport has over 60 subsidiaries, active in various sectors of the economy, including banking, insurance, air transport, agriculture, petroleum and natural gas exploration, and others.(1 euro = 1.95583 levs)
