August 10 (SeeNews) - The average gross monthly wage in Bulgaria increased by an annual 8.2% to 1,125 levs ($657.2/575.2 euro) in the second quarter of 2018, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.
In comparison with a year earlier, the average monthly wage in the public sector grew by 9.6% in the second quarter, while in the private sector it rose by 7.6%, NSI said in a statement.
On a quarterly comparison basis, the average gross monthly salary rose by 4.5% in April-June.
The highest wage, of 2,663 levs, was registered in the information and communication sector, followed by financial and insurance activities with 1,922 levs.
The lowest gross salary, of 697 levs, was recorded in the sector of accommodation and food services.
