Bulgaria's avg gross monthly wage grows 9.4% y/y in Q4

SOFIA (Bulgaria), February 12 (SeeNews) - The average gross monthly wage in Bulgaria increased by an annual 9.4% to 1,437 levs ($889/735 euro) in the fourth quarter of 2020, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.

On a quarterly comparison basis, the average gross monthly wage grew by 4.7% in the review period, NSI said in a statement.

The highest average wage, of 3,346 levs, was registered in the information and communication sector, followed by financial and insurance business with 2,250 levs. The lowest gross wage, of 787 levs, was recorded in the sector of accommodation and food services.

On an annual comparison basis, the average monthly wages in the public sector and the private sector went up by 13.1% and 8.1%, respectively.
