The total assets of the non-life insurers in Bulgaria declined to 5.32 billion levs at the end of December from 5.66 billion levs a year earlier, the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) said in a data release on Tuesday.
There were 24 non-life insurance companies active in Bulgaria at the end of 2023.
With gross premiums of 500.9 million levs, Lev Ins was the biggest player on the Bulgarian insurance market, with a share of 13.7% of GWPs. It was followed by Euroins, with gross premiums of 441.9 million levs and a market share of 12.1%.
Bulstrad Life Vienna Insurance Group, with 382.9 million levs in GWPs, and DZI-General Insurance, with GWP of some 354.3 million levs, held market shares of 10.5% and 9.7%, respectively.
