The benchmark index was held back by pharmaceuticals maker Sopharma [BUL:SFA], which lost 1.01% to 5.90 levs, and Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:ATER], which fell by 0.93% to 3.20 levs.

The two companies also dragged down the BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, by 0.10% to 167.93 points. Its biggest decliner, however, was printing and advertising company Billboard [BUL:BBRD], which plunged 13.33% to 0.416 levs.

The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, shed 0.35% to 190.56 points, following the loss at Advance Terrafund.

In contrast, the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, went up 0.20% to 853.67 points. The index was boosted by a 7.00% jump in farming group Agria Group Holding [BUL:AGH] to 21.40 levs and a 3.85% gain in software developer Sirma Group Holding [BUL:SGH] to 1.08 levs.

The BEAMX index, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, surged 1.78% to 106.06 points on the back of a 7.21% increase in investment firm HR Capital [BUL:HRC] to 2.38 levs.

Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse dropped to 1.02 million levs ($560,372/521,516 euro) on Tuesday from some 3.98 million levs on Monday.

Diversified group Synthetica [BUL:SYN] generated the day's highest turnover, at 648,000 levs, after 10,800 shares changed hands. The stock closed flat at 60.00 levs.
