Sentur, which is headquartered in Colorado, U.S. and also has a base in Sofia, also announced in a press release that it has appointed Georgi Atanasov as chief technology officer.

The company declined to reveal financial details of the investment due to ongoing talks with potential investors.

Sentur's angel round attracted as backers Hristo Kosev and Boyko Iaramov, two of the co-founders of Bulgarian software company Telerik; Hristo Borisov, co-founder and CEO of Bulgarian unicorn Payhawk; Telerik Academy CEO Alexandra Mechkova, Modeshift CTO Pavel Iliev, VertoDigital founder Zoran Arsovski, and Vessy Tasheva, founder of mental health consultancy Vessy.com.

Founded in 2020 by former Telerik CTO Faris Sweis and US clinical psychologist Sarah Houy, Sentur, which is fully developed in Bulgaria, offers a digital therapeutics platform with a focus on trauma care. It has over 1,000 clients in North America, the UK and Australia and recorded a 12-fold revenue increase in 2023.

For next year, the start-up is focusing on broadening market reach, in particular by offering services to larger enterprises.

"With today's technological advancements, particularly in AI, we're not just making marginal improvements; we're aiming for solutions that are ten times better. The progress we've made in just the last three years is astounding, and the potential applications are revolutionary," Sentur CTO Georgi Atanasov said.
