The blue-chip SOFIX climbed up 0.66% to 785.20 points following a 0.22% drop on Tuesday, bourse data showed.
The BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, picked up 0.39% to 161.62 points after dipping 0.18% a day earlier.
Both indices were buoyed by gains in Eurohold Bulgaria and Fibank, by 3.85% each, to 1.35 levs and 2.70 levs, respectively.
Support for the two indices came also from IoT products maker Shelly Group [BUL:SLYG] and diversified group Doverie United Holding [BUL:DUH]. Doverie went up 1.29% to 9.40 levs, while Shelly climbed up 1.38% to 58.8 levs.
Doverie and Shelly were also among the top performers in terms of turnover - generating 58,864 levs and 47,510 levs, respectively,
The most traded company, however, was diversified group Chimimport [BUL:CHIM] with a turnover of 61,318 levs. The group extended its losing streak, dropping a further 2.52% to 0.697 levs, after losing 1.92% on Tuesday.
Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse fell to 166,000 levs ($91,100/84,900 euro) on Tuesday from 1.66 million levs on Tuesday.
The BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, edged down 0.10% to 800.01 points reflecting losses at fertiliser maker Neochim [BUL:NEOH]. Neohim shed 6.85% to 20.4 levs in volume of 1,961 shares.
A 0.78% increase in Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF] helped the BGREIT, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, close 0.16% higher at 189.20 points.
Finally, the BEAMX index, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, erased 0.57% to 95.916 points.
