February 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's parliament adopted a final decision to set the minimum monthly salary at 50% of national average as of January 1 next year, public television BNT reported on Wednesday.
The new minimum salary, to be valid for 2024, will be determined by September 1, 2023 taking into account the average salary in the second half of 2022 and the first half of this year, BNT reported.
The minimum monthly salary will increase by about 100 levs ($55.39/51.13 euro), BNT quoted Socialist Party leader Kornelia Ninova as saying.
In December, Bulgaria's interim government raised the gross minimum monthly salary by 9.9% to 780 levs as of January 1.
