The funds will be used to cover the operating costs of the Discoverer supercomputer for 2022, the government said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to commercial registry data, the ministry of innovation and growth currently owns 92.15% of Sofia Tech Park.
Last November, the government invested 3.8 million levs to cover Sofia Tech Park's operating costs, including those of the petascale supercomputer, which was purchased in 2020 and was put into operation in October of last year.
Sofia Tech Park was established with the aim to strengthen the competitiveness of science and entrepreneurship in Bulgaria by improving the knowledge exchange between academia and business, supporting startups and innovative ideas and thus catalysing the process of commercialisation of research.
