April 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian state-owned National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) said on Monday that it has signed a 14.9 million levs ($9.2 million/7.6 million euro) deal with a local tie-up for the design of the doubling of the railway line from Krumovo to the border with Turkey.
The tie-up comprises Eurotransproject and Geotechnoengineering, NRIC said in a notice to the public procurement agency.
Eurotransproject owns 70% interest in the tie-up, according to registry agency data.
The contract was signed on April 22 following a tender which attracted five offers.
The project benefits from EU funding under the Connecting Europe Facility.
Last year, NRIC said that Bulgaria and Turkey are planning on doubling the railway line connecting the city of Plovdiv to Istanbul.
