February 7 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) said it launched a 54.1 million levs ($29.81 million/27.66 million euro) tender for the technical design and construction of an intermodal terminal in the city of Ruse, on the Danube river.
The project includes the design and construction of a terminal site to load and unload cargo and a new terminal train station, NRIC said in a tender notice published in the public procurement register last week. An intermodal terminal is a logistics platform for transferring cargo and shifting from one mode of transport to another.
Offers can be submitted by April 6. The term for implementation of the project is 24 months, including six months for the technical design and 18 months for construction, the notice added.
Last month, NRIC announced the launch of a 275 million levs project to upgrade a railway section in western Bulgaria, part of a major railroad to Serbia.
