September 27 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria gave the green light to four new investment projects worth over 75 million levs ($36.9 million/38.3 million euro) in total, which will create 416 jobs, the innovation ministry said.
Among the investments approved by the government's InvestBulgaria Agency is a 38 million levs project to build a factory for electric bicycles in Bulgaria's second-largest city of Plovdiv, with 330 new jobs, the ministry said in a press release on Friday.
The other investments include 10 million levs for the construction of a medical and spa complex in Strelcha, south-central Bulgaria, which will create over 75 jobs; 4 million levs for a logistics base for warehousing and storage of third-party cargo near Sofia, and over 23 million levs for the construction of a beverage can production line, building and additional equipment in Blagoevgrad, southwestern Bulgaria. The plant will be built by Carlsberg Bulgaria, a press official at the ministry told SeeNews.
InvestBulgaria Agency has authorised investment projects worth some 300 million levs for around 2,000 new jobs since the start of the year, the ministry added. Production and processing, IT, logistics and healthcare are the pre-eminent sectors in which the investments have been approved.
