June 14 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Bulgaria Air said that is net loss narrowed to 3.5 million levs () in 2018 from 6.6 million levs in 2017.
Bulgaria Air's operating revenue increased to 290.2 million levs last year from 277.6 million levs the year before, the company said in an annual financial statement earlier this week.
Revenue from regular international flights fell 2% year-on-year to 150.4 million levs, which international charter flights revenue added 14% to 72.8 million levs. Revenue from regular domestic flights grew 12% to 14.2 million levs.
Bulgaria Air operated 5,995 flights in 2018, 52 less than in 2017. Flight on regular routes fell by 168 to 4,841 while charted flights increased by 116 to 1,154.
The number of passengers on Bulgaria Air flights increased by 22,707 to 1.267 million in 2018.
The company operates flights on two domestic routes from Sofia - to Burgas and Varna. Bulgaria Air also operates regular flights from Sofia to 22 international destinations.
Bulgaria Air employed 407 people in 2018, down from 416 in 2017.
The carrier's fleet consists of the following leased aircraft: three Airbus A320, two Airbus A319 and four Embraem 190.
