October 13 (SeeNews) - Romanian carrier Blue Air said on Thursday it will launch flights from Oradea to Bucharest starting December 15, and to Italy's Turin starting March 2017.
Blue Air will fly four times a week from Oradea, in nortwestern Romania, to Bucharest and twice a week to Turin, it said in a press release.
The Oradea-Bucharest route will increase to ten the number of domestic routes serviced by Blue Air, the company said.
Earlier this month, Blue Air set a new base in UK's Liverpool from where it will launch four new routes - to Rome, Milan, Hamburg and Alicante - starting next summer. The company currently operates from bases in Bucharest, Bacau, Cluj, Iasi, Larnaca and Turin.
Blue Air plans to transport 3.2 million passengers this year, up 50% from 2015.
The company started operations in December 2004 and is the only air carrier in Romania with 100% Romanian capital. In 2013, it was taken over by Airline Management Solutions Company in a 30 million euro ($33.6 million) deal.
The airline operates a fleet of 25 Boeing 737 aircraft and flies to over 70 destinations.
