September 23 (SeeNews) - Romanian cryptocurrency company Bitcoin Romania said that it aims to double its ATM franchises in its network to 150 units by the end of 2022.
With the opening of new franchises, Bitcoin Romania aims to reach between 250,000 and 300,000 users on its transactions platform by the end of the year, it said in a press release on Thursday.
By end-2023, Bitcoin Romania expects its ATM network to reach 250 units across the country.
The company's current network of cryptocurrency ATMs counts 76 units, in cities such as Bucharest, Constanta, Timisoara and Cluj-Napoca.
"The only thing that has recently changed as a result of the evolution of the value of the currency is the share of transactions, with those for purchases greatly surpassing those for sales," said Chief Strategy Officer of Bitcoin Romania, Constantin Rotariu.
Bitcoin Romania was established in 2014 and allows its clients to buy and sell Bitcoin and 30 other cryptocurrencies. The company employed some 26 people and had a net profit of 4.6 million lei ($917,135/929,961 euro) in 2021, according to data from the finance ministry's website.
