The new store brings Billa's locations in Plovdiv to ten, the company said in a press release.
The Billa Today stores, designed to be smaller than traditional Billa outlets, will be located in both large city neighbourhoods and smaller towns and villages. Covering an area of 450 to 600 sq m each, these new stores will feature electronic labels, energy-efficient refrigeration systems, LED lighting, and self-service checkouts, Billa said.
Earlier this week, Billa Bulgaria and electric vehicle charging (EVC) stations operator Eldrive said they have joined forces to deploy fast charging EVC charging stations at supermarket parking lots across the country.
The Austria-based supermarket chain operator entered Bulgaria in 2000. Currently, Billa Bulgaria operates over 150 stores in more than 47 towns and cities across the country.
