December 14 (SeeNews) - Supermarket chain operator Billa Bulgaria, part of Germany's REWE Group, said on Thursday that it opened its first store in the central town of Troyan after an investment of nearly 5 million levs ($2.8 million/2.6 million euro).
The new store, with a sales hall area of 730 square metres, has created 20 jobs, the company said in a press release.
The Troyan site is the 11th store Billa Bulgaria has opened this year, as the retailer continues to expand its sales network across cities and smaller towns and villages.
Last week, the company opened a new store under its Today concept in the village of Graf Ignatievo and its third store in the northeastern city of Shumen, investing some 2 million levs in each project.
The Austria-based retailer entered the Bulgarian market in 2000 and operates 158 stores in 50 cities across the country, according to its website.
