Belgrade bourse BELEX15 loses ground as Messer, NIS drop

July 3 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip BELEX15 index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange fell on Wednesday, ending a four-day winning streak, dragged down by losses in industrial gases producer Messer Tehnogas [BEL:TGAS] and oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS], bourse data showed.

The BELEX15 shed 0.16%, closing at 997.19 points.

Messer Tehnogas led the blue-chip decliners on Wednesday by dropping 2.00% to 24,500 dinars at close, on a volume of 5 traded shares.

NIS followed with a 0.74% decline to 800 dinars at close, generating the single largest turnover for the day, of 4.4 million dinars.

At the other end, insurer Dunav Osiguranje [BEL:DNOS] led the blue chips gainers, closing 1.73% higher at 1,002 dinars, as 660 shares changed hands.

The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, also dropped, closing 0.15% lower at 2,234.34 points.

Total turnover on the Belgrade bourse plunged to 7.8 million dinars ($73,700/68,400 euro) on Wednesday from 119.3 million dinars on Tuesday when trading in government securities contributed some 114 million dinars of the total.
