Albania's building permits increase 34% y/y in Q3

November 24 (SeeNews) - Albanian authorities issued 361 building permits in the third quarter, up from 269 permits issued in the same quarter of the previous year, the national statistical office INSTAT said on Friday.

As many as 289 permits were issued for the construction of residential buildings, INSTAT said in a quarterly report.

The approved permits covered projects with a total area of 455.181 square metres, an 8.7% decrease from the same period in 2022.

The estimated value of approved construction projects decreased to 18.9 billion leks ($201.6 million/184 million euro) in the period under review, from 21.6 billion in the third quarter of 2022.

The highest number of permits, 125, were issued for buildings in the coastal city of Durres, followed by 100 in the capital of Tirana.
