Albania's avg gross wage rises 13.8% y/y in Q1

June 12 (SeeNews) - Albania's average weighted gross monthly wage increased by 13.8% year-on-year to 73,641 leks ($788/734.2 euro) in the first quarter of 2024, following a 14% annual rise in the fourth quarter of 2023, the statistical office said.

The average gross wage in the public sector reached 84,979 leks, while in the private sector it amounted to 68,686 leks, the statistical office said in a statement on Tuesday.

The highest average wage, of 133,982 leks, was observed in the financial and insurance services sector, followed by the information and communication sector at 110,364 leks. The lowest wage, of 49,594 leks, was recorded in the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector.

Albania's minimum gross monthly wage currently stands at 40,000 leks.
