TIRANA (Albania), August 27 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers totalled 9.4 billion leks ($86.3 million/74.2 million euro) in the first seven months of 2018, up 6.28% year-on-year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 7.07% year-on-year to 8.7 billion leks in the January-July period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 664.1 million leks, down 1.62%, according to figures published on the website of the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) late on Friday.
Total gross claims paid decreased to 2.67 billion leks at end-July from 3.08 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprises data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
