Albanian banking group BKT cons net profit up 33% y/y in Q1

June 3 (SeeNews) - Albania’s Banka Kombetare Tregtare (BKT), wholly owned by Turkish diversified conglomerate Calik Holding, said on Monday its consolidated net profit rose to 2.89 billion leks ($31.2 million/28.7 million euro) in the first quarter of 2024, from 2.16 billion leks in the same period last year.

The group's financial activities include its Kosovo subsidiary, e-wallet services provider BKT Pay and a 30% equity interest at Albania Leasing.

The group’s net interest income rose to 4.89 billion leks in the January-March period, from 4.41 billion in the same period of last year, BKT said in a quarterly interim financial report.

Total assets increased to 609.8 billion leks, from 579.4 billion leks a year earlier.
