July 2 (SeeNews) - The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) has opened a tender for a contract for road upgrade works in the Adriatic seaside village of Velipoje, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Tuesday.

The winner of the competition will be required to improve the existing road connecting the village of Pulaj to Velipoje and the Shkoder-Velipoje national road, the EBRD said in a tender notice.

Offers can be submitted to ADF until August 12.

The initiative is part of a larger project to enhance the Albanian tourism offer, financed by the European Union through technical assistance and investment grants totalling 40 million euro ($42.9 million), and the EBRD through a complementary loan facility, the bank noted.
