January 31 (SeeNews) - Albania's transport ministry has opened a tender for awarding a five-year concession contract for ship services at the country's ports, the Public Procurement Agency announced.
The project has an indicative value of 191.8 million leks ($1.5 million/1.4 million euro), according to a procurement notice published in the weekly bulletin of the country's Public Procurement Agency on Monday.
The concessionaire will be required to offer services including piloting and ship towing, in the ports of Durres, Vlore, Saranda, Shengjin as well as at the oil terminals Romano Port, located near Durres, and Vlore's Petrolifere.
The offered prices for every service, the quality of the company's equipment and tugboats, the company's experience, as well as the concession fee as a percentage from the revenue are some of the crtiteria for awarding the concession contract.
Candidates are invited to apply until February 24.
According to local broadcaster TopChannel, some three million tonnes of goods are transported through Albania's ports every year. The ports are used by some 1.5 million passengers, TopChannel added.
