December 28 (SeeNews) - Albania's information technology agency, AKSHI, said on Thursday it has opened a tender for a 280 million leks ($2.9 million/2.7 million euro) project to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to speed up the adoption of European Union laws.

The project aims to boost Albania’s chances for EU integration. The adaptation of EU legislation, which is a key point in the negotiation process initiated in July 2022, has been lagging behind, AKSHI said in tender documents.

Prospective bidders must implement an AI-powered platform automating the transposition of EU legislation into Albanian, including translation, comparison, classification, and assistance in legal drafting, replacing manual processes and providing a cloud-based digital platform for managing issues, within nine months.

The implementation will be followed by a maintenance period of two years, AKSHI added.

Offers can be submitted until January 29, 2024.
