The construction works will be financed through private investment, with Albania providing no financial guarantees or getting involved in the project, Albanian Daily News quoted infrastructure minister Belinda Balluku as saying on Friday.

The land expropriation process will be carried out by the government, Balluku added.

Candidates can submit their offers from August 2 to September 23.

In April, Albania inaugurated its second international airport, located in the northeastern city Kukes. Tirana International Airport Mother Teresa is the only other operating international airport in the country.
