TIRANA (Albania), November 12 (SeeNews) – The Albanian Road Authority, ARRSH, has signed a 36 million euro ($40.8 million) contract with Albanian-Italian joint venture Gener 2 & Impresa Ing. E. Mantovani for the construction of the 29 km Vlora bypass road, the Albanian infrastructure ministry said.
The joint venture will immediately start work on the project, the ministry said in a press release on Friday.
ARRSH also signed a 38 million euro contract with Kuwait's Combined Group Contracting for the construction of the 22 km Fier bypass road, the ministry said last week.
Works on the Fier bypass road are planned to be completed by next summer.
The two bypasses are key sections of the Albanian national road network and will connect major roads built with financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investement Bank such as the Levan-Tepelene and Levan-Vlora roads.
