June 22 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Air Serbia plans to launch a service linking Belgrade to Norway's capital Oslo on July 16, it said.
In this way, Air Serbia will ensure even better connectivity with Scandinavia, providing connections from Oslo via Belgrade to Sarajevo, Tivat, Podgorica, Skopje, Bucharest, Sofia and Thessaloniki, the company said in a statement on Friday.
"We are delighted to add another primary European airport into our network and providing seamless connectivity to Belgrade and via Belgrade to the wider South Eastern European region. We continue to evolve in these difficult times to market demand and the needs of our passengers," Air Serbia CEO Duncan Naysmith said.
Air Serbia will also increase the number of weekly flights linking Belgrade to Italy's Milan and Germany's Dusseldorf, it said.
The flag carrier restarted the operation of flights from Belgrade on May 18 after the Serbian government closed on March 19 the airports in Belgrade and Nis in order to tackle the coronavirus outbreak. Air Serbia suspended all passenger flights as part of the measures to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection on March 20.
