April 4 (SeeNews) - Serbian company Westgate Solar plans to build a 3.5 MW solar plant in the eastern municipality of Zajecar, the local government said.
The plant will comprise 6,400 photovoltaic (PV) panels and will span a total of 3.7 hectares, the Zajecar municipal government said in project documents published on Wednesday.

According to the Serbian business registry, Westgate Solar is owned by private individuals Dusan Pomoriski, Zoran Pomoriski and Milorad Pomoriski, who each hold 26.7% of its capital, and Hungary's Electron Holding Zrt, which owns 20%. It was founded in March 2012.
Approached by SeeNews for information about the size of the planned investment, a Zajecar municipal official declined to comment. Westgate Solar has not responded to a SeeNews e-mail seeking comment by the time this article was published.
