September 14 (SeeNews) - Serbian state-owned company for railway infrastructure management, Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije, is inviting sealed tenders for works on the reconstruction of the Rakovica–Resnik railway section, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Wednesday.
The 7.43 km long section, part of the Corridor X stretch in Serbia, links Belgrade with the country's southern border.
Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije plans to use part of the proceeds of a loan from the EBRD to finance the overhaul project, the bank said in a statement.
The tender deadline is October 31. The time for completing the reconstruction works in 351 days.
The project will require the procurement of civil works including substructure, hydro technical works, track works, level crossings, and railway station structures as well as electrical works including signaling and telecommunication facilities, overhead contact line and electrical traction substation, the EBRD said in a general procurement notice published last year.
Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije was established as a joint stock company in 2015, as a part of the reorganisation implemented in railway operator Zeleznice Srbije which saw the uncoupling of the different sectors into separate companies.
