April 19 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it approved a senior unsecured loan of up to 7 million euro ($7.5 million) to Serbia's Banca Intesa Beograd (BIB) for on-lending to eligible women-led small and medium-sized enterprices (SMEs) under the Western Balkans Women in Business programme.
"The project will contribute to women's economic inclusion by supporting women-led SMEs' access to finance and business advisory services," the EBRD said in a statement on Thursday.
The Western Balkans Women in Business programme aims to assist with financing and know-how women-led firms which face different context-specific challenges in the six European Union candidate countries in the region - Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro.
