February 25 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's drug maker Alkaloid [MSE:ALK] said on Thursday that its consolidated net profit grew by an annual 15% to 1.2 billion denars ($23.7 million/19.4 million euro) in 2020, backed by higher sales revenue.
Sales revenue rose by 9% year-on-year to 12.1 billion denars in 2020, Alkaloid said in an annual financial statement filed with the Skopje bourse.
Sales abroad increased by 9% to 7.9 billion denars, while domestic sales added 9.3% to 4.3 billion denars.
The cost of goods sold was 12% higher on the year at 6.7 billion denars in the year under review.
Alkaloid has two subsidiaries in North Macedonia and 17 subsidiaries and two representative offices abroad - in Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, the US and the UK.
The company employs 1,832 people in North Macedonia and 539 in its subsidiaries outside the country.
Alkaloid's shares traded at an average price of 13,970 denars on Wednesday on the stock exchange in Skopje.
