April 19 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's biggest pharmaceutical company Alkaloid [MSE:ALK] said on Friday it has registered a wholly-owned subsidiary in Croatia, with a view to expanding its footprint in the European Union.
Alkaloid registered the new company under the name Alkaloid Pharma International Doo Zagreb, it said in a bourse filing.
Considering that 69% of the company's product distribution is targeted for export, it is significant to have the company's product line present in EU markets and to explore new markets for expansion, Alkaloid said in the filing.
The new entity is the eighth one established within the member countries of the European Union.
Alkaloid has two subsidiaries in North Macedonia and 19 subsidiaries and two representative offices abroad.
Its shares traded at an average price of 20,100 denars ($348/326.7 euro) per share on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) on Thursday, latest available bourse data shows.
