March 15 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 4.3% year-on-year in February, slightly slowing down from an annual rise of 4.4% in January, the statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Montenegro's consumer prices edged up by 0.4% in February, after rising by 0.5% in January, the statistical office said in a statement.
In February, annual inflation was primarily driven by a 14.1% increase in restaurant and hotel prices and a 12.6% rise in clothing and footwear prices. Prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuel prices added 6.7% year-on-year, whereas prices of healthcare services went up 4.6%.
Prices of furniture, household equipment, and household maintenance prices rose by 4.5% year-on-year in February, prices of recreation and culture activities grew by 4.2% and prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 3.8%.
