April 22 (SeeNews) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's Siniat d.o.o. Bihac, part of the Belgium-based building materials group Etex, is preparing to start the exploitation of gypsum at the Orasac-Kulen Vakuf deposit in the Bukvarine locality in Bihac, local media reported.
The 5-hectare exploitation site is poised to begin operations as the company is close to securing final environmental permits, news provider Biznis Info reported on Friday.
Siniat earlier signed a 25-year concession agreement with the government of the Una-Sana Canton for the purpose of research and exploitation of gypsum at the site, according to the media report.
The Una-Sana Canton is one of 10 cantons in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
