August 19 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Friday it plans to provide an unfunded risk sharing facility of up to 30 million euro ($33.97 million) to Societe Generale Albania, covering up to 50% of a portfolio of eligible loans to the agribusiness sector in Albania.
The overall objective of the unfunded risk sharing facility is to promote sustainable lending to agribusiness sector in Albania and enhance access to finance for the sector, EBRD said in a notice on its website.

The instrument will benefit from a first loss risk cover contributed by the Albanian government, and advisory services funded by other donors to be provided to agribusiness clients and Societe Generale Albania.
Societe Generale Albania is the sixth largest bank in the country in terms of assets.
