February 6 (SeeNews) - Croatia's prime minister Andrej Plenkovic opened on Monday a 6.4 km section of fast road Popovec-Marija Bistrica-Zabok, worth 120 million kuna ($17.3 million/16.1 million euro), the government said.
The road linking Andrasevec and Bedekovcina, on the section Zlatar Bistrica-Andrasevec, was opened by Plenkovic and the ministers of transport and construction, the government said in a statement.
"This fast road will mean a lot for the local population", Plenkovic said, adding that the project in northern Croatia is a step forward in improving Croatia's road infrastructure.
Works on linking the newly opened stretch of the road to Zlatar Bistrica are currently underway. The Bedekovcina-Zlatar Bistrica section will be 6.5 km long and will cost 145 million kuna.
