March 20 (SeeNews) - China is interested in investing in energy projects in Montenegro’s central municipality of Niksic, the local government said.
“We would like to improve economic cooperation with the municipality, particularly in the joint implementation of projects in the field of energy. We are also ready to cooperate in other fields, such as education, science and culture,” Niksic municipal government quoted Wang Changzheng, economic advisor at China's embassy in Montenegro, as saying on the municipality's Facebook page.
Niksic is home to EPCG Zeljezara steel mill which has two 60-tonne electric arc furnaces that can produce an estimated 300,000 metric tonnes of crude steel per year.
On Tuesday, the Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) said it is interested in investing in Montenegro's energy sector.
