October 12 (SeeNews) - Serbia's main airport, Belgrade's Nikola Tesla, serviced 3,810,517 passengers in the first nine months of 2016, up 1.0% year-on-year, the airport operator said.
The number of takeoffs and landings at the airport dropped 1.0% year-on-year to 45,229 through September, while cargo traffic jumped 16% to 10,268,530 kg, the airport said on its website.
In September alone, passenger traffic climbed 6% on the year to 519,376.
The number of takeoffs and landings increased 4% to 5,645, while cargo traffic rose 5% to 1,235,708 kg in September.
The airport operator expects to handle more than five million passengers this year, up from last year's record high of 4.8 million.
